On-screen keyboard always loads, want it off

I turned on the on-screen keyboard once to see what it looks like. However, now
it always loads after I type in my windows password and log on. I've checked the
startup, turned it off using the red X, checked the control panel, and searched the
web. I even went through the Windows Defender and looked at what's set to load at
startup and its not listed.
I'm sick of this thing loading up and I want it to stop. How can I do that?

Control Panel > Ease of Access Center > Administrative Tools > Change Administrative
Settings; uncheck the "Apply all settings to the logon desktop"; click Save

I have exactly the same problem and would love to get a solution too. It's a real
pain not to be able to turn it off.

Open the Start menu and type Ease in the search box. When Ease of Access Center appears
as an option, click it or just press Enter.
Choose Use the computer without a mouse or keyboard.
If Use On-Screen Keyboard is checked, that’s why it keeps coming up for you. Uncheck
the box and hit the Save button, and you’ll be On-Screen Keyboard free again.

Hi John,
In addition to all the other posts. If you want screenshots with the directions to
make it easier, then this will help.

There are no dumb questions, just the people that do not ask them.
