AMD mobile Sempron 3500 running at 800mhz?

Hi recently I just purchased a Compaq Presario f557us with a AMD Sempron 3500+ (1.80ghz)
and now about 1500mb of ram. I noticed today using PC Wizard 2007 that my CPU is
only opperating at 803mhz!? Is this normal? I thought it was supposed to be 1.8ghz...
This is my first ever AMD PC I've always gone with Intel. Can I adjust this??

It's just throttling itself down when not in use. It's AMD's cool and quiet software.
Look in bios and see if you can disable it. Intel's software is called Speedstep
I believe. It will only max out when there is high demand on the cpu.

I have a Pentium M, and on Batteries it runs at half speed to conserve Battery life.
Your AMD may be setup the same way. I like the 4+ hours of battery life so never
looked for a way to speed it up. May be a way, not sure

If I disable it will there be any threats to my machine? I was playing an almost
4 year old game with most high settings on and it ran very sluggish... I figured
maybe that's the 800mhz operating speed..

I figured it out fellas it was because I had it on power saving mode... Thanks for
all your input!
