Administrator password

Bought a laptop computer at a garage sale while on vacation. It was up and running.
Did not use it for about 2 weeks. Started it up and can only get to the guest user.
I have no clue to the administrator's users password and I can not do what I need
to do as a guest. I cannot call the people I got it from because I do not have their
phone number. Is there any way I can get around the administrator's password. Really
stuck in a bind. Paid good money for this laptop and as it is now it is useless.
Any help would be appreciated

I have not seen much info about Hacking Vista Login Passwords. Try Google. So far
it appears you have to reinstall Windows if you forget the Password. , I would try
harder to get hold of the people you got it from. If they claim they forgot it, then
I Bet it was stolen.

why would you buy a used computer and not reinstall the OS as the very first thing
you do?
asking for password cracking help is shady and these types of posts should be deleted
instantly.

I do not know a great deal about computers. I was on vacation and went by an estate
sale ( garage sale??) and this computer was up and running. It looked very good.
It had a good price. I did not use it until I got home off of vacation. If I would
have known that I could not have gotten into it I would not have bought it! There
was nothing shady about it and I am offended for you saying that. I just want some
help so I can use the thing. And no I cannot take it back. I am not going out of
state just to try to find the house I bought it at. It is my loss and no one elses
and I accept that.....

I'm afraid that your only option is going to be a re-format and re-installation of
Windows. There should be a Windows product tag somewhere on the bottom of the laptop,
so any disk will do.

Hi Norma, don't pay any attention to the people who are dissing you about this.
If you can go to this web site (use someone else's computer) http://www.petri.co.il/forgot_administrator_password.htm
you can download either a boot CD or boot floppy that you can use to reset the password
to null. I have used this many times, I think it will work on Vista.

I was reading some problems that others were having. Some one else had the same problem
and he was told to use F11. It worked. Thanks for trying to help.
