Is this a needed update? It keeps popping up in the task bar to download and install,
which I do. Then I need to restart, but it will then pop-up saying the install was
not suscessful and to try again, and it keeps doing the same thing. I clicked on
Help and it said to remove certain files from the SoftwareDistrubtion folder so I

Check if you have it listed in Control Panel under Windows Updates.

It does not appear to be critical, merely informational. If you have already activated
Windows, you won't even see it.
Try the "Notify me but don't automatically download or install them" section on the
following page to decline that update. After it has been declined, you should be
able to reset update to auto. Note the page is for xp, so you may need to look around
a bit to do this.

DocCrain, over on the xp forum, found this regarding update problems - "Microsoft
Stealth Update and Windows XP repair don’t mix" (Note this applies to repair
installs):
