Restoring screen resolution

I accidentally ran a classic Atari game disc in my HP Pavillion dv6000 that wasn't suited for Vista. Now all the graphics on the computer looks like something from the early 90s. How do I restore the computer to it's original settings? I admit I know very little about computers because I am dumb.
