drag and drop on desktop links

I use on my desktop links to programs (notepad, write, etc.). I have been able, till
recently, to drop on those links files to view or edit.
After the last update I cannot drop any file in a desktop link. This happens also
if I want to move a file or a folder to a link of a directory on the desktop.
Any similar experiences and relative solutions?
