I don't know what Microsoft did to Vista to make it so slow. The most idiotic network setup I've seen. I was forced to switch to linux SuSe. I'm glad I did. The person/team that did the Network setup should be locked up in a mental ward. Frustrated former Microsoft client

SuSe has problems too. I have it installed on a Web surfer, but can't use Web sites like Yahoo Music, the Full episode Player at ABC.com doesn't work with My Linux install either. In Fact most anything related to online Multimedia has problems with SuSe, and probably Linux in general. Video and Audio Editing which I do a lot of is real primitive and a pain to do with Linux also, so can't really use it for that either. Other then that I like SuSe as well.

I don't know what the fuss is about.
If you apply the available tweaks for Vista as you would apply the available tweaks
for XP, they both will run neck and neck as far as speed is concerned.
Vista networking is different but it was designed to give you speed with tons more
security.
It's a entirely new learning curve using and configuring Vista.
I, for one, have no problems with Vista.

I'd have to agree with that, other than the fact that Vista requires more ram than XP to get that speed.....2 gigs mandantory, in my opinion.

When XP came out, it too required more RAM than the average PC had installed at the
time. The same is happening today with Vista.
I agree. Two gig of RAM works best with Vista although my better half's PC only has
1gig in it. Her PC runs fine with the proper tweaks applied. It does run a tad slower
than mine despite the 1gig of RAM difference. In my opinion, the difference in speed
between the two PCs is attributed to one having a single 250gig hard drive (hers)
and the other having two Raptors in RAID 0 (mine).
