unable to create a restore point,cannot create a shadow copy error message (ox8004230c) no restore points ever created. dell cannot seem to fix this problem.any suggestions

Does the error appear when trying to restore the system or accessing All Programs -> Accessories -> System Tools -> System Restore? 2. When did the issue begin to occur? Have any changes been made on the computer recently, such as an installation or upgrade? Based on the current situation, I suggest trying the following methods to troubleshoot the issue: Method 1 Try to restore the system in Safe Mode Restart the computer, keep pressing F8 and enter Safe Mode. Can we restore the system? Method 2 Re-Registering Core Files 1. Click Start -> All Programs -> Accessories. 2. Right-click Command Prompt and click Run as administrator. 3. Type the following command and press Enter: Regsvr32 srcore.dll Also are you using bitlocker? I am suspicious of that one! No proof yet though.
