uninstalling Yahoo web page

I made a mistake and installed Yahoo toolbar, site, ask, directory, etc. It seemed responsible for a runtimes error and would not close Internet Explorer properly. All efforts failed. Finally I did a system restore to an earlier time. Everything is gone but the web page. Now I don't even have MSN,AOL,etc. This is all new to me. (computers) I really need some help please.

Open up a web page, go to tools, then internet options, then under the General Tab,
highlight and delete what web pages are there and then click use default.
Close browser, then re-open and type in whatever page you want as your homepage,
i.e www.msn.co.uk, once the page has loaded, have a look for "make this your homepage",
click on it and then every time you re-open your browser, msn will be there.
