Windows Explorer Hanging and Crashing

I'm having trouble with my computer lagging when I open a file with large amounts of video files in it (10+ gb). The computer takes a loooong time to refresh the folder when I first open it. When I click on a video file, it takes a long time to open, and sometimes I get a "Windows Explorer Has Stopped Working" error. I'm running a dual core 2.4 ghz with 3 gigs of ram and an 8800gt video card, so I should have pretty smoking fast performance. Could this be a virus or malware of some kind? My Norton scans and all my free spyware scans are showing nothing... Justin

I had the same problem a few times with a hard drive that has 125gig of videos in
it.
I ran check disk on the drive and it seemed to fix the problem.
