okay -- i know this may sound like a silly problem, but i cannot burn anything from my laptop. i have vista home and for some reason i cannot make a data cd or dvd. now on the side of the laptop it says dvdRW, dvdMulti recorder, and compact disc rewritable. is there something i am missing or how do i check to see if i have a burner. i know this sounds really no0bish, but it is frustrating me that i cannot burn anything. in the past i have been using my network to burn from the PC instead of the lappy but now i have a program that i need to burn and it is 1.8GB and i dont have a dvd burner on the PC -- so i am stuck. anyone have an idea?...... cheers

Have you changed in your BIOS the AHCI setting? You can revert back to normal by
de-selecting this. If you wish to keep it turned on you need the latest drivers for
you IDE, ATA, SCSI, & RAID.

This is just one possible cause.
