I'm a LAN with an xp PC behind a firewalled router. I have a Lexmark 1250 All In One printer physically connected by USB to an the xp PC. Documents on the XP will print fine and documents which are copied to the shared folder over the LAN to the XP will print. But I cannot print from this vista across the LAN. I get a message"the printer cannot communicate with the computer." I can see the printer from the vista and it is ready and share files with the XP. I have tried disabling firewall and other security to no avail. Google has brought almost word for word description of same isue but no fixes

Did you incorporate a network Bridge. My system did similar and I had to do that.
If that doesn't fix it can you type the following into a Command window and paste
it here so that I can see your network.

Ipconfig /all |clip

Something else you might try. See if IPv6 is engaged. if so uncheck it. For the time
being there is almost 0% need for it. And it has been the cause a many problems.
