Taskbar Icons

When having various windows open they use to showed up directly on my taskbar. But
now I have to use the "Switch between windows" button to get to all my open windows.
How do I change this back so I can have my open windows directly on my taskbar so
I don't have to use the "Switch between windows" button?

Just to make sure other things aren't happening, you are sure that you are not "Grouping"
similar tasks into one button on the Task bar? Also you are seeing you task bar?
It is not hidden?

No, taskbar is not hidden and the "group similar taskbar buttons" is not an option
to allow me to have my open windows show directly on my taskbar without having to
use the "switch between windows" button.

Just a though by looking at other people who have had similar problems, Make sure
the task bar is 'Unlocked', and see if you can 'Expand' it upwards.
There is a slim chance you at sometime had a double row showing and you shrunk it
down to a single and the operable one is the shrunken/hidden one. Reaching for answerers,
yes. Given up, no.
