No active programs on taskbar

Any open programs use to be directly on my taskbar, and if multiple programs (ie: internet explorer) were open they'd be grouped together in one dropdown button. There's even an option to turn that (grouping) on or off. What my problem is is that no open programs appear on my taskbar anymore. Instead there's a button called "Switch between windows". You click on that instead and a list of all your open programs are there. I'm assuming that it's a choice to have it one way or another but I can't find were to change it back so my open programs are directly on my taskbar instead of having to use the switch between windows button. I prefer to have them visable so there's no need to click on anything so I know what's running at a glance. One suggestion I had was that I needed to stretch my taskbar in order to see my icons. That didn't do anything but give me a BIG taskbar....

Much better explanation! You are using flip D correct. See if it is listed here.

C:\Users\username\AppData\Roaming\Microsoft\Internet Explorer\Quick Launch

It is part of the W/3D and the only problems I have heard is people can't find it.
I'm really not sure if there is a notable way to disable it, though just by the fact
some people can't get it to work would tell me that this FAILURE could be induced
intentionally.
