Hello,
I have a network which is also connected to the internet via a DSL modem, the thing
is that whenever I connect the Vista machine to the net work, it shut down the internet
connection

I read an article last night (like a dolt I didn't save it), that talked about BIOS
settings that are required for DSL modems to be able to run under VISTA. I will try
to find it again, but that might at least point you in the right direction.
