I post on a great many forums, and click on the "notify me when replies are received" boxes. For some reason I am not receiving them anymore. Could it be Vista?

Doesn't sound like that would have anything to do with Vista. 

Sounds like strictly an e-mail problem.  You need to verify your e-mail functionality 
and which e-mail address those websites are sending notifications to.
