Hello all, well for around 3 months ive been downloading and testing drivers to get my asus g2s laptop from Vista to XP, so i finally have all ready to go but the i need the last annoyance resolved before going from vista and not comming back again. I have aroun 6000 emails stored on windows mail and as you can expect i really want to bring them with me to outlook express.. here is the question ¿Does anyone know the way to export/migrate all the mails from crappy vista to windows xp?? thxs in advance.

Check here: http://www.vistaheads.com/forums...

From what I see, the last paragraph under "Importing from Outlook Express" regarding
exporting to eml files is your best bet. If Windows mail will not do this directly,
search using "export to eml file" for free apps that claim to do this.

I would create a new account (Windows mail) and clone your current account in case
the app you decide to try crashes and burns.

Not sure, but bet Thunderbird will let you import the email. Outlook Express is Virus Magnet, so you might look into it. A nice side effect is Thunderbird is way more secure then OE.

Considering that they are both MS programs I'd just about bet that both use the EML
format. Try to do just a copy from one to the other.

Last night i tried to export using the "windows mail option" and this time its actually worked, i think the fixed it in SP1, it exports all the msgs to *.eml so i think ill be able to just copy paste the whole export folder to outlook. Without the sp1 for vista it just bugs and gives a wierd error so i guess they actually fixed something with the sp <.<. Thxs for all you answers :)

I *think* you need to drag the files from explorer into a folder located within your
oe window (inbox, etc).
