Is any one having this problem where they back up a dvd with Vista Ultimate and then
not playing on dvd players. I've been able to back up dvd's with no problem in windows
xp, however when I installed Vista i'm having no luck playing backed up dvd's in
Dvd players but plays fine in Vista after I burn it. I used Dvd Shrink and Nero,
still no luck. Any advice would be much appreciated.
Thanks.

What version of Nero? Anything before 7.5 is not Vista Compatible. If everything
else is the same I would say it's a problem with your 3rd party software not liking
Vista or you have changed something in the codecs or method of burning.

I've been using Nero 8.0 on Vista and DVD Shrink 3.2. I've tried a few other softwares
such as DVDFAB and Ashampoo 6.0. Yet still no luck.
Changed something in Codecs? Is there any way to solve that problem. I think i'm
using the Codecs as I used before to watch Avi files but I'm not sure if that relates
to backing up dvd movies.

I am using Roxio EMC9 and if you don't close the disc you can only read it on the
same computer or at least one that has Roxio installed. Does your software have that
box to tick.

As I always close my disks I never thought of that one from Malcolm. That is an excellent
thought.

Yeap, I always close the disc, and still no luck. I've done the same thing I did
before on XP and it worked fine when I had backed up the DVD in XP.
This problem just has me stumped...

than nero.
