Okay, I've successfully removed the .net framework assistant. But, won't MS just
put it back with their next "security" update? Will I have to delete the .net fw
assist again and again?
Thanks

It is always a possibility that MS update will install it again but at least now
it can be easily and simply uninstalled with the MS fix. I would think that future
.NET updates will include this fix. Actually, MS doesn't roll out .NET updates that
often and they may not always need to include the Firefox extension. Just keep an
eye on your Firefox add-on manager once in a while like you should be doing and you
will be safe. The annoyance was that you couldn't easily uninstall this thing, that
annoyance at least has been fixed.

Dee's update worked for me. Thank you Dee! It requires a couple of Firefox restarts
and one Windows reboot
