Adobe AIR problem

Hello, on start up I have recently been getting the message "This application requires a version of Adobe AIR which cannot be found. Please download the latest version of the runtime etc etc." I have tried deleting and reinstalling Adobe AIR many times, but this message keeps coming back. I'd be quite happy to stop the application opening that needs Adobe AIR on startup, but how do I find out what application is calling for it? Cheers.

You have to go into the tedious process of disabling your startup items in msconfig and re-enabling them one at a time, then re-booting each time, to find the culprit. Two tips to make this faster/easier: 1. Use Winpatrol (free download) instead of msconfig - its easier to use and show more startup items than msconfig. 2. Disable half of them, the re-boot - then you'll know which half the culprit is in . . . and continue to narrow it down thus. In general this will speed up your task.
