I have been using a modem to share wi-fi on two laptops. One has Xp and mine has Vista. It seems more than 90% of the bandwidth is utilized by the other laptop, the one with XP. Is there any thing I can do to increase mt internet speed. Why does XP dominates on vista??? Or Does it have nothin to do with OS....

Distance, interference (just about anything), antenna, mode of operation (B, G, N),
and of course settings. I use a program named Auslogics that has an optimizer built
in and it tunes approximately 50 different settings. Of course this is to many to
talk about here. A good place to get all your WiFi info is at the following link.

Also about the interference, CLF and regular florescent lights, Blue tooth devices,
cordless phones (except 6.0), car engine computers, house wiring, TVs, Satellite
dishes, CELL PHONES...
And moving a couple of inches can make all the difference in the world.
