Cannot remove annoying program

Windows installer All of a sudden when I try to open my Ulead 4 picture manage I get the Windows In staller Icon which say's Installing"and just freezes, I have to re-boot to get rid of it. How can I correct this problem?

Somehow I ended up with this program, Total Security, it pops up constantly saying my PC has a virus, (it don't) Tried to remove it with contol panel, its program itself. pops up and tries to get me to activate the program, and that the removal programs were deleted, so I have a program I dont want, and that I cant remove it til I activate it. Is this possible?

Google Total Security for removal instructions.

I realize that you came here for help to find the truth from among the myriad of
nonsense resultson the web. Possibly even an educated response.
Total Security IS the Malware. I have included a link to a site that instructs you
on it's 'Manual' removal. I chose this so that yo might get some experience working
with the actual workings of Vista.

Dear Charlie,

I think that everyone who frequents this forum has realised by now that you are better
educated, more knowledgeble, more helpful, wiser and all-round a better person than
anyone else who posts here.

So there's no need for more of your snide put-downs.

Got the message yet ?

NB I would suggest a little attention to your own spelling and grammar, but how can
you improve on perfection ?

Charlie, thanks for the reply, unfortunately, I have never worked in registry, got in, got toCurrent User, and a long list of programs appeared, could not find what you wanted me to delete, is it possible to show me what I am doing wrong? T.I.A., Jim

Possibly safer / easier: 1. Boot into Safe Mode with networking 2. Turn off System Restore 3. Download and install MalwareBytes from here 4. Do "Perform Full Scan" and accept all the deletions it proposes 5. Reboot normally and, if all's well, turn System restore on again Hope this helps.

Good news . . . also look at your most recent post - you need to take the text out of the "header" field I think !

Let me see if I got this correct, I am the only one that is not allowed to make snide
remarks, and it is ok for everyone else? Sounds kind of like a certain political
party in this country.
The man needed help. He got nothing but a jerk comment. I went in and helped him.
Get over it. Go join the girls scouts or something. When people come here they probably
have seen most of what they can Google and are only more confused by it. They come
here to get an educated answer and help. Not told to go away, which is what he originally
got told. As long as people ask the questions, as long as Oreilly press has the site
and permits me to assist, I will do the best job I can regardless what some little
brat thinks. I put up with a lot more H&H from the VietCong than you could ever give
me.
