EXPLORER always wants to explore..

When I click on a link..even one that is on my desktop with the url in it, explorer
wants to do more searches..even when I just type the url in the url section w/o the
www. I thought there was a bug..like a redirector in the files but haven't found
it..the way I get around this is to copy/paste the exact url in from the orginal
search. Is this a redirector bug that is resistant to ad-aware, malware, and avg
? Thanks . Ian.

Probably malware.
Which browser are you using ?
What malware scans have you done apart from AdAware ?

I think so too but I cannot find it.
I run explorer 8 and I have also used malwarebytes.
Could you suggest another product ?
Ian.

Two things to do then:
1. Run IE8 without add-ons (right-click on the Icon and select that option).
If that cures it then the problem is an IE add-on.
2. Run full scans with the following two (free and reasonably aggressive) malware
scanners (accept all deletions offered):
Malwarebytes
Superantispyware

Also malware can hide, especially if your antivirus scan is run in normal operating
mode. Run a scan in safe mode and see what it finds. Also you can run one of the
many on-line scans from the major anti-malware providers. Running one from their
web site insulates any viral activity you may have from their software scans. ALso
try taking any and all web associated settings back to basic/original settings and
see if you come up with a resolution.

To recap, I have run several packages with no luck..I have also tried rinning ie
w/o add ons and I still have the problem.
Iven if I type in the domain like ebay.ca ..or an icon that I have on the Desktop
like www.ebay.ca it will sometimes do in a search..
I am going nutz..BTW, I cannot get flash to run on this computer as well so I cannot
watch any youtube movies..
Do UI have to reformat and re install ?
