exe's dissappearing

have this bizarre problem. Looks like this system has some virii. Keep trying to
install, spybot, ad-aware, even norton scan but each time after it installs and begins
to scan, it crashes, then the exe from the program files folder dissappears?? When
trying to start program through desktop shortcut, error message reads, system cannot
find specified file.. etc etc...Also it looks like the browser has been hijacked
as google searches are sending me to some bloody stopzilla and info websites, how
do I fix this? Does anyone know what is causing this and/or the dissappearing exes?
Thanks in advance.
