Greetings computer techs, I was browssing on PcWorld site their was an article on SP2 being essential. Is this for XP users and Vista user need not worry? confused SC

Total confusion on your part: SP2 for Vista is for Vista, not for XP, whereas SP2 
for XP is for XP, not for Vista.

Perhaps you could read the article in question to find out what operating system 
they were writing about.

SP[insert number here] is not essential unless it fixes a problem you are having 
or adds a feature you need. SP installs can totally wreak a system as can any update 
and the security they add can be taken care of with other means instead. Just my 
2 cents here.
