Every time I put anything in the Disk Drive an icon is created on the desktop. I 
do not wish for that to happen. Is there somewhere I can turn that function off?

I discovered some of the icons fade on their own. Like when I insert a music CD, an icon appears. But when I remove the CD it fades out. Perhaps the other times I am just too impatient. Might be something in there that does it for your conveyance.
