When I log on I am getting a message which says that my password will expire in x
days and I should consider changing it. Well , I've never created a password and
I don't have to use one to be able to log on, so I don't know why I'm getting this
message. My concern is that when the x days are up, the account will be blocked
because Vista thinks I have a password. I have an Administrator account. Any advice
as to why I am getting this message and what, if anything, I should do about it.

If the link posted by steve does not apply I would run a malware scan. Might be a
bug trying to get your passwords.

Steve's link (and every other link on google that I have tried) doesn't address the
problem of a password expiry message when no password has ever been created. I've
run a scan as suggested and nothing found. Does anybody have any other ideas?

Thanks for the link, Steve. Looks a generally useful site. Still no explanation for
why Vista would warn of password expiry when no password has ever been created, but
I've followed the procedure for unlimited expiry period, so at least that should
get rid of the warning messages.

Many Windows problems have no known reason for cropping up. My guess is a Windows
Update caused it.:)
