"I want to live in peace with God, Earth, the Sea and my fellow Human Beings"

Installed ERUNT but when I rebooted I got a message box entitled ERU FOR Windows NT In the box it said: Unable to create file CX:\Windows\ERDNT\autobackup\10-23-2009\ERDNT.Inf when I had Windows XP I ued it a lot. How may I get to it on Vista? Thank much. Anna Ruth

No such place as "CX:\...", and I have to suspect that your installation is fouled
up. I'd remove it and start over.

"I want to live in peace with God, Earth, the Sea and my fellow Human Beings"

For some reason the link would not paste that I went to.l Automatically Backup Your Windows Vista Registry Daily Using ERUNT It said¨ ERUNT is an excellent Registry Backup and Restore Utility for Windows NT/2000/2003/XP/Vista. This program backs up the DEFAULT, SAM, SECURITY, SOFTWARE, SYSTEM hives and also the per-user registry hives namely NTUSER.DAT & USRCLASS.DAT. and also ERUNT works fine in Windows Vista if run under elevated privileges. To run the application elevated, right-click the file ERUNT.EXE which is located in "C:\Program Files\ERUNT" and choose Run as Administrator. Additional instructions are available in article Take a complete registry backup using ERUNT. I have two program files for some reason (new to this Vista) One just says Progrm Files and the other says Program Files (86) ERUNT was in neither. But since I had uninstalled it, maybe that is the reason? Duh!

Reinstalled Erunt and did this To run the application elevated, right-click the file ERUNT.EXE which is located in "C:\Program Files\ERUNT" and choose Run as Administrator. And when I rebooted I got the same error message.

Whoops, have not received answer to my last message. Maybe the problem I cannot get ERUNT to work and I get an error message is because I have 64-bit? I notice when I go to various web sites, frequently Microsoft to install something I always get a message that for 32-bit only. So I wonder what is the good to have 64-bit? Do not understand what it is.

Here is what I wrote to you last Tuesday; the message is on the forum:

E-mail: lars.hederer@t-online.de

And, from the FAQ:

"Do ERUNT and NTREGOPT run on 64-bit Windows?

"Answer: Yes, version 1.1j and later fully support all 64-bit editions of Windows.
Older versions may cause problems, so be sure to use the latest one on these systems."

Why not send an e-mail to ask for assistance? That's why I gave you the address,
after all.

Thank you, when I have the time. Caretaking and waiting for Microsoft for over a week to find out why my Windows update wil not update and searching myself for anwers are very time consuming.
