How do I remove REMIND.EXE

When I start Vista I get a window that asks if I want to Allow or Decline the start
up of REMIND.EXE
I found a thread here from 3 years ago that seems to have worked to remove it from
XP.
I have never figured out how to get in DOS to RUN/regedit.
How would I do this in Vista?
In XP this is how it is done;
1. Click Start
2. Click Run
3. Enter regedit (and click OK)
4. Click 'My Computer' then File -> Export and save a copy of the registry with a
name of your choice
5. Press the F3 key and in the Find box type remind.exe
(you will probably find the call in the folder HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\Software\Microsoft\Windows\Current
Version\Run or similar)
6. Once you have located the registry file that contains your program path as stated
in the thread subject, left click on the file and delete it.
7. Close the registry.
This is the thread link...

I would be very greatful to anyone that can help, this isn't the first time I have
tried to get into the registry.
I've spent hours trying to get some help with this.
Thank's, @DaveMarshall

There's a distinct possibility that its malware.
Just in case it is, I'd run a full scan with Malwarebytes

Thank's Martin but that was not it.
I may try the full scan.
Now I'm thinking it might have something to do with
Program Files/IOI/ButtonMonitor.exe
Might have to try hijackthis next.

In Vista, the search box doubles as the Run Box also.

Thank's Steve, I found regedit in the search box but I could not find REMIND.EXE
in the registry.
It doesn't really do anything except pop up when I boot my computer so I guess I'm
stuck with it.

From the a little poking around the interwebs it looks like a malware infection of
some kind, best to take it to a malware removal forum where they know the ins and
outs of how to deal with it.

Look in msconfig for the exact file path to the file and post back. I've seen that
before, just can't remember what it was associated with. Type msconfig in the search
box and then click on the startup tab. Then find remind.exe and let us know what
the exact filepath is.
