Photo Gallery Slide Show

Running Vista Home Premium with SP-1 and SP-2 and all updates, done all the virus
and malware scans and registry cleaners, checked this forum and Googled many times
but still no solution. The tool bar, command bar or whatever you call it that should
be at the bottom of the screen during a slide show disappeared between uses. Right-clicking
the mouse brings up a context menu where I can adjust speed, go one forward or one
reverse but does not have any way to change themes. I can't think of anything I
might have done to screw things up. The program file contents for Photo Gallery
are exactly the same as on my wife's laptop, also running VHP. Registry entries
appear to be the same except for some screen display values. It's worked for almost
two years and then suddenly pfft, it was gone.

Sounds like the sort of thing that a System Restore to before this went wrong might
sort it out.
I'd steer very well clear of Registry "cleaners" though.

Too late for that, I'm not sure exactly when it happened.

I suppose it may have happened as a result of an update (stranger things have happened)
if you cannot put a specific time and date against when this started happening.
You could try systematically uninstalling the updates but its a shot in the dark.

I'll just live with it, at least it defaulted to the Classic theme and I can control
the speed. Maybe another update will change it back.
