I'm trying to save an application and it's a zip file. I've tried saving it to the
desktop, C: Drive, documents, etc...but it doesn't show any of those places???
Thoughts?

Are you using the built in zip function or a 3rd party application like winzip? When
you say saving do you mean saving the actual zip file or extracting the contents.
If you are extracting the contents make a note of the path where the system says
it's being extracted to and look there.

I'm trying to save an application (sopcast), it will come up and give me the option
to "save" or "run"
If I select save, it never shows up regardless of the area I select. It just simply
never appears?
I believe I use winzip but will have to confirm later.

It does nothing.
I forgot to check if I have winzip. I reformatted awhile ago and can't remember if
I reloaded it. I'm looking online right now and it's showing as a pay program???
Hasn't it always been freeware?

Well, it appears it's not just that file. It's ALL types of files. I can't save anything
anywhere. Desktop, C Drive, jump drive, etc...
So, I first thought virus. All virus and malware/adware scans come back clean
Thoughts?

Saving what from what applications ?
Do you get error messages, or nothing ?
Have you run a scan with MalwareBytes ?
What happens if you login as Administrator ?

Actually I figured it out. It was a virus and it was caught with the new update from
AVG but had to load that update from a different computer. Malware, Lavasoft and
not the most current avg did not catch it.
Thanks everyone!
