Strange as it may seem! But this is actually a forum for Vista not other OS's.

Linux has a large learning curve. With as much trouble you have with Windows you
will
have a difficult time adapting to Linux is my bet. I think Linux is something to
try on a crappy old Computer. Then when you get tired of it, you can turn on the
Windows Computer.

Kind of have to agree there, Linux is not a bad OS but it is still at heart a geek's
OS. It is designed for someone who wants to manually edit config files, enter commands
and managing every last inch of the system yourself. It is getting better but it
is not in a place to challenge windows on the consumer desktop yet.

Linux is easy to install, and has good Driver support.
Most people are unable
to install anything else though once it is up and running.
It does have
the basics, like Word processing, email client, Web browser, and it is Malware resistant.
Just don't expect to install your Favorite Windows Screensaver.:)

If you got a spare Computer, try it. Only takes a hour to install, and gewg in the
Windows 98 Forum can answer any questions. He is trying to convert all the Windows
98 users in the forum to Linux.:)
