It could be some bios setting that needs to be tweaked, i had a problem with shutting
down unless i held down my off button for 10 seconds , and then i found the option
to change this in the bios now it is enough to click the off button once.
Your problem is a totally diffirent one i know but it doesnt hurt checking it out.
