Windows XP does not support NetBEUI. This is a quote from their Platform SDK (referring
to DLC and NetBEUI):
"Support for these obviated protocols, often referred to as legacy protocols, is
being scrutinized for future versions of Microsoft® Windows. With the release of
Windows XP, certain legacy networking protocols are no longer supported."
