Windows Xp instead of turning of my pc they restart it!

I have win xp installed a few days ago.Everything was going fine but one day i tried
to turn off my pc and instead of turning off it restarted.I don't know what's wrong
and how it can be fixed.So please help me because every time i have to push the button
when it trys to restart. :(
