Well, my friend had the same problem as you are having now (notice the past tense I used). :) There is hope! You DO NOT have to download the entire 80mb file at openGL. Most likely your problem is coming from your video card drivers. The drivers included with WindowsXP are not OpenGL friendly, fromt what I've experience. I would suggest going to the manufacturer's website and downloading the newest driver. If you're using a 3dfx card, you can find TONS of open source drivers out there that people are making, even for XP.
