YES. godammit. I had EZCD 5 Platinum working fine with Win 2K on my new Mitsumi
drive. EZCD 5.0 didn't recognise the drive, but the 5.02b updater did. When I upgraded
to XP, I did a clean install (formatted drive) but didn't install EZCD because I
has read about the problems with XP on the Roxio site. So when the EZCD XP updater
came out, I followed the Roxio instructions to the letter (5.0 install with no reboot,
then 5.02b, then XP patch). The updaters both failed to recognise 5.0 and immediately
quitted. I then got a BSOD on next boot. In fact, TOTAL death. I tried Safe Mode,
Last Known Config, and every other boot option. Nada. Zip. EZCD had killed my machine.
I had to reinstall the OS again. I am now waiting on Roxio's support people to get
back to me. Will I be more careful next time and create a Restore point before installing?
You bet. Do I trust EZCD on XP? What do you think?
