I had no problem seeing my other computers on my LAN using tcp/ip. I've just got
a standard peer-to-peer workgroup. The only thing I had to do, I think, after the
standard XP setup was to name the workgroup correctly using System in the Control
Panel (the Computer Name tab).
(My problem is the opposite. I can't get Internet sharing working. No doubt this
is because I was using an older version of Sygate on the Win98 machine which is my
DSL machine. I'm going to try to switch over to Internet Connection Sharing. I had
once heard ICS only was available with Win2K, but it's available with 98 SE as well,
correct?)
