I have a similar, but not the same problem.
Since installing WinXP daytime connections to one of my ISPs
is max at 33 Kbps, but night-time are OK at 56 Kbps.
My ISP tells me it is probably the modem init string,
but I doubt this as my connections to another ISP
is always successful at 56 Kbps day and night;
and the init string is issued before the dialling starts
(as I understand it).
Have you had a resolution to your problem, which might help me
with mine?
Regards
