I had the same problems with a new Cyberpower system that came with XP on it. The new Cyberdrive cd/rw wouldn't read or write with the XP software. Updated latest patches at MS and the Cyberdrive finally got that part to function. My scsi Umax s6e scanner still being detected and installed at each boot up (it's installed 6 times under unknown devices) and Umax says no problem just buy another new scanner. What a mess, been weeks trying to make new products work as advertised.
