Typically when you have upgraded from one operating system to another, the prior operating system restore files are backed-up in case you decide you wish to uninstall the upgrade. Least that has been in effect since Win98 came out. However, if you have deleted the backed-up restore files, you are out of luck. Period. Only way to reinstall is format hard drive and reinstall clean.
