Drac,
I've been experiencing this same problem. It didn't start happening until I installed
my new Geforce 3 card. From what i've seen, everyone that has an nVidia card seems
to have this flicker annoyance when WindowsXP boots up. It seems to be looking for
new monitors or changes to the hardware. I've also noticed that it does this when
you go to your Display properties, Settings, and Click on the advanced tab.
If this annoyance is happening only when XP boots up, it's pretty normal (at least
from what I've experienced). If it's happening out of the blue, I would check the
windowsupdate site and download the device drivers updates there to see if that fixes
your problem. If not, you might try using your flat screen on a non-xp system and
see if it does the same thing. If it still happens on a non-xp system, then it's
most likely your flat screen.
Two possibilities: Video Card (hardware/drivers), Flat Screen (hardware).
Hope this helps!
Derek
