You need to realize the concept behind Internet Connection Sharing, the concept is
this, you link 2 computers (or more) together probably using a hub and network interface
cards, THEN you go out to the Internet through the modem of one of them. The machine
that you are using the modem on that makes the connection to the Internet becomes
a "router" and assigns an IP address to the other computers using it as a "gateway".
That being said, I fail to understand how you are connecting your computers to the
router you say you have? How many ports do you have to connect to on your side?
If you have multiple ports the computers connect to, or you are using a hub and then
one port connects everything to the router? In either case, why are you trying to
use Internet Connection Sharing which is the function of the router, to direct network
traffic?
I am connecting 2 computers to the Internet using a DSL modem, a hub to connect both
computers to, then the hub plugs into the modem. One computer is XP by the way, neither
computer has Internet Connection Sharing enabled as it is not neccesary, again, the
only time you would use ICS is if you are "going out" to the Internet through a modem
or NIC on one of the computers.
