com port2???????

Having installed win xp over 98 first edition my modem or com port 2 showed exclamation
marks in device manager. After downloading xp drivers for my modular technology v90
pci modem I could only install the modem on com 1 but it was in fact situated in
com 2 but I didn't have the option to change it. any suggestions. P.s I've installed
win 95,98 and millenium many a times on different systems.
