Had similar problem with restarting automatically on shutdown. The culprit turned
out ot be Direct CD 5.
When I shut down I get the message "Now safe to turn off your computer" and have
to press the case power button to turn off. I don't have the problem if I boot to
ME (Dual boot setup with XP)
