I'll have to think about this one for awhile...but for now, try and go to the WindowsUpdate 
site and get the latest drivers and fixes from Microsoft....this might fix your problem 
(it fixed SEVERAL for me).

You might also try setting your bios back to the default settings, and booting XP. 
 

Hope this helps...I'll be thinking of other ways to fix your problem....
