xp installation error

After copying the files and rebooting for the first time I get the following error. "An error has been encounterd that prevents the setup from continuing .One of the components that windows need to continue setup could not be installed.The parameter is incorrect. Setup log.txt shows the following. Installation failed G:\1386\asms The parameter is incorrect.
