You will find the Media Player 7 and above uses digital audio which is why you can
remove the audio cable.
If you want to disable this.
1) Fire up Media Player
2) Open Tools, Options
3) Click on Cd audio and remove the tick from digital playback.
Once you close media player down and restart the audio will be back through your
trusty audio cable.
With the audio break up then try altering the network buffering option. Once again
in media player options, click performance and then set the buffer to about 15 seconds
this can fix the audio problems for you.
