Had the same problems with my system: Athlon 1900+ Gigabyte GA7DXR Motherboard Visiontek GeForce3 TI/500 graphics card USRobotics Performance Pro internal modem SoundBlaster Live sound card 512MB memory Windows XP Home Edition With modem installed, upon boot up, Installation Wizard recognized modem but couldn't find drivers for this modem! Ran modem Installation CD and went to 'My Computer', clicked D Drive, open, and opened folder with WIN2000 drivers. Wizard recognized the drivers and modem and installation went well from there. Had the same problem with system rebooting everytime I shut down computer from Start Menu. Called tech support for my computer and this worked: Reboot computer and hit delete key when prompted to go to CMOS settings. Go to Power Management. Disable that + all items in CMOS with WAKE UP in title. Depress F10 key, Y (for yes to save changes) and reboot. That seemed to take care of the reboot problem. Hope this helps.
