You are not alone... I have has intermittent problems like this since my initial install (an upgrade over win2k). Since then I have reformatted as NTFS and completed a fresh install of winxp. the problems are fewer but every now and then I get the re-boot. The auto re-boot is a setting in administration and you can turn it off but believe me the alternative is a lot worse as you'll sit staring at a bue screen collating a huge memory dump. I don't have any answers to this but just out of interest what modem are you using - I've adsl on an Alcatel modem which has to be configured as a modem connection and I think this may be an issue regards Simon
